Humanists have to make their own miracles…and you can help!

The Humanist Institute is the only leadership education program in the US and Canada that welcomes secularist, naturalistic, scientific, atheistic, non-theistic, and religious humanists. In other words, if you’re a humanist, the Institute is for you!

Nearing its 25^th anniversary, the Humanist Institute was founded in Chicago in 1982, It has more than 100 alumni, the majority of whom work as Ethical Culture Leaders, Unitarian Ministers, Humanist Counselors, professional administrators in our national organizations, and as officers and other volunteer leaders in humanist fellowships, chapters, and associations.

You can be part of this exciting project by:

joining as an Institute Associate
recruiting students; or, if you’re interested, applying yourself
inviting the Institute to present a program at your fellowship, society, chapter, or association
making a contribution to support scholarships, books, and faculty and student expenses
making a gift to the Institute Endowment Fund

[The annual cost for each student is $1800. This covers room and board at the Institute’s 3 session each year, books and other materials, travel grants, and expenses for mentors and adjunct faculty.]

Income from the Endowment is used for scholarships, alumni activities, recruiting international affiliations. Our goal is $1 million and the income would support about half of the annual cost of the Institute program. Already, about $400,000 has been contributed and the campaign continues.
