Class 18

The Humanist Institute is now accepting applications for Class 18 scheduled to begin on December 2011.

We are excited to annouce Ann Fuller and John Shook as the next mentors for Class 18.

Ann Fuller was formally ordained a member of the clergy by the Unitarian Universalist Church of Brevard (UUCB) in March 2007.  She currently is their affiliated Community Minister with primary congregational responsibility for the New Member Integration Ministry initiative.  She is in the UUCB pulpit on the second Sunday of each month with additional pastoral care and community outreach activities as needed.  She is available for inmate visitation at the Brevard County Detention Center who request UU or humanist clergy.  Ann has an independent community ministry of ritual providing officiant services to inter-faith, secular and unchurched families throughout Central Florida.

Ann facilitates adult religious education programs with a focus on the theologies of Unitarian Universalism and comparative world religion and teaches marriage education classes.  She has a B.A. in politics from Washington and Lee University, an M.A./Ph.D. in Divinity Studies from Columbus University, a graduate certificate in Humanist Leadership from The Humanist Institute.  She is a certified marriage educator with the National Marriage Centers.  Ann is the tresurer of Humanists of Brevard and serves on the board of directors at The Humanist Institute.

John Shook is the Director of Education and Senior Research Fellow at the Center of Inquiry in Amherst, NY.  He is also Visiting Assitant Professor Science Education, and Research Associate in Philosophy, at the University of Buffalo.  He received his Ph.D. in philosophy at Buffalo, and was a professor of philosophy at Oklahoma State University.  For more information on John visit online: http://shook.pramatism.org.
